The Hominin Map Project

The Hominin Map Project
This is my final project from my Graphic Design in Cartography course. I wanted to make something that both relates to my background, and helps others learn about human evolution. For this project, I used Leaflet, which involved the use of html, javascript, and css. Each skull icon represents the approximate location of a hominin discovery. Click the skulls to learn more about the find, and follow the links to the newly created extension to my website! Here, I have created individual pages for most of the discoveries. If there wasn't much information available for a specific find, I simply linked you to external sources which may be helpful.

Note: I do not own any of the material (images of skulls, written information, etc). I just collected as much information as I could, given my timeframe, and put it all together. Brief introductions for fossils were copied from their Wiki pages, as were the images (though I photoshopped each image to remove backgrounds). There is a link directly below that information to where it came from. The Wiki information was checked for accuracy.

Note: the information for this project was last update in roughly November 2017.
